Quality control

Predictability and reliability for construction

The quality and durability of concrete structures are built on careful planning and foresight. By predicting and monitoring temperature development and strength gain, the behavior of a concrete structure can be controlled even before the pour begins. This helps ensure that internal temperatures do not rise excessively and that temperature differentials remain within acceptable limits.

Ruskon Betoni’s quality control service utilizes proprietary calculation software to predict heat development, strength gain, stress levels, and cracking risk in concrete structures already during the design phase. This enables more precise planning of concrete pours and supports informed decisions regarding concrete mix selection, insulation, and curing methods.

The result is a higher-quality, safer, and more cost-effective end product for the customer, delivered with greater predictability and control.

On-site quality measurement service

A high-quality and durable concrete structure is the result of careful planning and workmanship that extends all the way through to the finishing stage. With our expertise, you can ensure that your concrete construction meets even the most demanding requirements. This helps avoid unnecessary demolition and repair work while reducing the risk of project delays and cost overruns.

Our on-site quality measurement service ensures that concrete pours achieve their specified performance targets. The service supports the entire concreting process, from pour planning and quality measurement planning to on-site testing and verification.

By monitoring and measuring key quality indicators throughout the construction process, we help ensure that the finished structure meets the required standards for quality, durability, and long-term performance.

Concrete laboratory services

All ready-mix concrete quality tests carried out on construction sites must comply with applicable European standards and requirements. To ensure this, we have developed a mobile quality control laboratory container, allowing all quality measurements to be performed under standardized conditions (+20°C) and ensuring that test specimens are stored in the correct curing and aftercare conditions.

Our laboratory container has proven particularly valuable on large-scale and long-duration concrete projects that require extensive quality testing. By providing controlled testing conditions directly on site, it helps ensure reliable results, consistent quality control, and full compliance with project requirements throughout the construction process..

Expertise and experience in quality testing

With professional expertise, appropriate testing equipment, and reliable measurement methods, it is possible to obtain results that comply with industry standards and are fully comparable across projects. In addition to delivering accurate measurements, Ruskon Betoni provides recommendations based on the test results, helping ensure that concrete structures meet regulatory requirements, perform as intended in their service environment, and achieve a long service life.

Ruskon Betoni Etelä’s on-site measurement service works with you to plan and implement quality testing at the construction site. The service includes, among other things, sampling plans, temperature monitoring plans, and overall quality assurance plans. Our measurement services cover nearly all traditional concrete quality tests, including slump testing, air content measurement, test specimen preparation and testing, as well as setting time assessment.

All measurements are carried out in accordance with applicable standards, and the results are reported to the customer with full consideration of project requirements, relevant regulations, and the performance standards applicable to concrete structures.

Temperature-Controlled Test Specimen Boxes

Concrete test specimens cast on site must be stored under standard conditions (approximately 20°C ± 2°C) to ensure that they can be used to accurately assess the conformity and performance of the concrete. In particular during winter, test specimens stored at excessively low temperatures can produce misleading strength test results and may underestimate the concrete’s actual performance.

For this reason, infrastructure and construction quality requirements emphasize proper on-site storage and curing of test specimens. To meet these requirements, Ruskon Betoni provides temperature-controlled test specimen boxes designed specifically for construction site conditions.

These insulated boxes maintain controlled temperature conditions, allowing concrete specimens to be stored for 1 to 3 days under proper curing conditions before further handling or testing. The result is more reliable quality control data, improved testing accuracy, and greater confidence that the concrete structure will meet its specified performance and durability requirements.
